SeaMobile Enterprises Announces Extended Partnership with Carnival Corporation & PLC to Provide Satellite Communication Solutions on Board Cruise Ships
Agreement Includes Brands of Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Lines, P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn, Cunard Line, and Iberocruceros
Seattle, WA & Miramar, FL - (March 17, 2009) – SeaMobile® Enterprises, the dominant global provider of at-sea communications, connectivity and content services, has announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract with Carnival Corporation & plc to provide its MTN VSAT satellite communication services on cruise ships operating under several Carnival brands. The agreement includes services for Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn, Cunard Line, and Iberocruceros, a Spanish-based cruise line.

The agreement calls for SeaMobile’s MTN Satellite Services division to add global C-Band communications services to more than a dozen ships in the Carnival corporate fleets. In addition, MTN Satellite Services will equip select newbuilds with its global C-Band VSAT services over the term of the multi-year contract. In some cases, the ships will also be equipped with redundant Ku-Band VSAT systems.

The global VSAT satellite communications network offered by MTN Satellite Services is “Always-On, Always-Available” and designed for the rugged maritime industry. Carnival Corporation & plc has been a customer of SeaMobile’s MTN Satellite Services for many years and continues to work with the company to jointly launch innovative new services.
