ShipTracker ™ and ShipTracker 2.0

MTN Satellite Services provides its customers access to web-based monitoring tools that provide real-time system status and bandwidth usage reporting. MTN’s ShipTracker is an advanced, Web-based Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system. ShipTracker offers the following features:
Site/Ship’s position (latitude/longitude)
Speed
Heading
Graphical location of ship
Graphical track of ship’s course
Satellite EbNo (signal strength)
Satellite footprint overlays
Regional weather charts from NASA’s web site
Data is derived from GPS attached to MTN system
Updates approximately every fifteen minutes

ShipTracker 2.0 maintains the familiar look and feel of the original, but is based on Google Maps ™.

Below is a list of the major improvements and features of version 2.0:

Supports zooming and panning of maps
Supports zooming with the mouse scroll wheel
Supports “Map”, “Satellite” and “Hybrid” views
Clicking on a ship from the “Fleet View” displays satellite and SNR (signal to noise ratio) information as well as a link to the “Ship Itinerary View”
The “Ship Itinerary View” displays a plot of the ship’s itinerary for the last 7 days along with current status (green=up, red=down)
Clicking on a ship in “Itinerary View” displays detailed GPS and satellite information
Clicking on the “Google” logo (bottom left side of the map) allows you to search for businesses and attractions near the ship
